I am a PhD student in the School of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
My current work is focused on developing a novel 1-D reaction-transport model of the coupled redox cycling of iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and chromium (Cr) in soil environments. The ultimate goal of these research is to leverage our understanding of Cr redox cycling during weathering to invert stable Cr isotope signatures in Earth's rock record for the abundance of molecular oxygen in the atmosphere. I am also using thermodynamic models to explore the role of hydrothermal systems in controlling oxygen and nutrient cycling in the deep ocean.
